What is binkpoint?
binkpoint is point software for FidoNet technology networks: it calls the boss node via binkp, fetches and sends mail, tosses netmail and echomail into JAM message bases and comes with its own reader and editor – all in one small executable for Windows x64. binkpoint is written entirely in x86-64 assembly (NASM) and uses only the Win32 system libraries.
binkpoint is a private, non-commercial project by Michael Geller. It is distributed as a binary only; the source code is not public.
Early test version. binkpoint is still young. Please back up your configuration and message bases before using it and report problems to michael@g00r00.com.
Features
One EXE, pure assembly
Mailer, tosser, scanner/packer and message reader/editor in one file binkpoint.exe for Windows x64 – written entirely in NASM, no C runtime, only Win32 system libraries.
Binkp mailer
Polls the boss via binkp (FTS-1026) with CRAM-MD5 or plain-text password, sends from the Binkley Style Outbound (BSO), several networks/bosses such as FidoNet and fsxNet.
Tosser & export
Tosses packets and ZIP bundles into JAM message bases, detects dupes, creates new areas from the boss automatically and exports your own messages as type 2+ packets.
Reader with ANSI
80-column grid with the CP437 character set and ANSI colours – BBS art looks the way it should. Quotes yellow, tearline/origin green, kludges on request.
Write netmail & echomail
New message, netmail and reply with initials quoting; the destination zone automatically picks network, netmail area and sender AKA.
Auto-poll per boss
A mail cycle is always export → poll → toss. Auto-poll with its own interval per boss, result in the status line, log pane shown on demand.
AreaFix window
Subscribe and unsubscribe echo areas at the boss (Mystic syntax: %LIST, %LINKED, +TAG, -TAG, %RESCAN …); replies are evaluated.
Select, copy, links
New in 0.9: select text in the reader and copy it as Unicode, open links (http, https, ftp, telnet, mailto, www.) with a click.
German & English
Complete user interface and log in German or English, chosen from the Windows display language or set explicitly.

JAM notice
